Andaman and Ochre

I painted this some time ago and I thought it would make a change from my current obsession with minimalist collages.
This was intended purely as an abstract but I am sure many people will see the colour change as an horizon and will regard it as partly figurative, I am happy for it to be regarded either way.

I do think this is as close to perfect for my eyes. I love it.

Sometimes simple objectives yield deep and complicated results. Thank you.

I so agree with Poetic Artist and annell that when I saw the image I knew that it would be my artist share on my current 'Following the Moon' post...with a bow in your direction and a thanks for such a rich portrait of balance.

Two of my favorite colors and perfectly balanced...a joy to look upon!

It does look like a stark minimalistic but striking and dramatic landscape.

Greetings Ian,

Though it was painted a while ago, it is always good to obtain a different perspective from what one is currently involved with, so that when returning to the project at hand, one may see things differently and a new perspective.

It looks like you added sand or something to simulate dirt to the bottom of the painting as texture, something I personally like, as it adds a greater portion of depth. Thank you for sharing.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend,
Egmont

Wonderful painting, agree with Egmont, interesting texture.
Wanted to mention that you collages are very interesting, I really enjoy the unique composition, the assymmetry.
Always love what you do.......best wishes, Sondra

I am fond of this one, perhaps because it strikes a chord in me since I also love doing abstracts with "horizon line."
