Callanish

The mysterious and romantic Callanish stone circle was the inspiration for this collage

The Callanish Stones, Clachan Chalanais, in Gaelic, are to be found near the village of Callanish on the west coast of the isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides, Scotland.

The site was constructed between 2900 and 2600 BC.  The 13 main stones form a circle about 13metres (42 feet) in diameter, there is a long approach avenue of stones to the north, and shorter stone rows to the east, south and west.  The individual stones vary from 1metre to 5 metres (3 feet to 16 feet) in height.

Your collage encompasses the mysteriousness of the Callanish Stones. I've studied it for quite a while. Great collage Ian.

I think it is quite successful, i particularly like the the crescent shape at the bottom that energetically brings the eye back to the center...

Your collage is very compelling Ian. It stood out this morning on my dashboard. The colors, textures and composition are beautifully done.

Your collage captured the essence of the magnificent stones- the ancient history and the elements of texture and circle- beautifully done.

I like the balance of colour, tone and composition in this collage, each element in harmony.

It looks like an interesting place.

Lovely collage, Ian! A sense of movement, and a nice "rocky" color palette.
The photographs, are they also yours? I like them.

If you live near this amazing place I am extremely happy for you.

Your collage is elegant and simple hugely difficult to attain with any medium.

So beautiful to study...is that a seed pod making the crescent?
