Diamond crossing

I bought the old book from which the background of this collage is taken many months ago, it is full of engineer’s formulae, tables and diagrams and I fully expected to make frequent use of it, but so far this is its only appearance and even this has been lurking about for many weeks.

I think the poor thing has rather given up hope of being posted but as I have nothing else worthy of a public showing at the moment I will give it a try.

P.S. 2nd Ashes Test, England win by an innings and 71 runs!!

you are too humble! this caught my eye, and i thought wow. this ian is sending a very interesting message with this composition. it flows. it's symbolic of whatever i want it to be...it's textured and contrasting and has rhythm.....bravo.

Think your doing pretty well, I collect those interesting books and let them collect dust-year after year. That little bit of red makes it for me. Cheers,
Thea

I see diagrams and angles and text as texture and love to use them in my collages as well as old book pages-- and that burgundy bit of color grabbed me.

Greetings Ian,

I have been checking your blog on a regular bases to see if you had posted something new and today I am rewarded.

I truly love it!

The elements and how you have placed then on the page is is so balanced and possible the best collage from the ones you have posted.

Warmest regards this holiday season,
Egmont

The spontaneity of ink blots, crinkles and color mixed with the mathmatical/schematic/linear makes both sides of my brain very satified.

glad your team won!

beautiful curve of white lines that seem to echo the faint diagram on the page -- I'm glad you shared "the poor thing!"
