Great composition! I admire how you treat empty spaces, that is a problem of my paintings,I am trying to resolve for a long time.Greetings from Portugal.
just read the story of this below....yes to that lesson...and what a cool daughter you must have to embrace your work, the way you work. she will continue to love this piece even more because it really did come FROM YOU!! thanks for sharing.
Ian you have such a beautiful blog. I like your work. It was nice to read about the way you do your paintings...and glad to know that your daughter liked your painting its fabulous.
Congratulations! Of course it is a wonderful piece of art and she is lucky to have someone to make art for her. I have art on my walls from my father and there is not better piece of art that I could ask for.
I am an enthusiastic photographer and aspiring artist and my favourite images can best be described as Abstract Minimalism. This does not mean that everything I post will fit this description, I intend to share any photograph or painting that appeals to me whether or not it is my own work.
Please feel free to make comments or suggestions, I will be delighted to read them all.

of course she did... I had no doubt, but glad you let us know!!!
Great father, great daughter!
great image . Like it , reminds me of so much and yet feels unique
So glad to hear that your daughter likes this wonderful painting. It's so hard to do work for someone else, especially if you are related to them.
she likes it because the painting is more personal and viewers always relate to an artist's more personal vision.
Greetings Ian,
Congratulations! Now you both can relax.
