Untitled Mixed media on canvas 39" x 39" |
There is not much to say about this painting. I felt that I should try something quite different from many of my efforts and I am well aware that I need to be a bit looser in my work; perhaps this is a small step in that direction.

I like it, Ian. I know what you mean about "loosening up" because I found myself trying to do that, too. Everything you do is learning, right?
Very nice. I like it too.
This is a very beautiful painting. Congratulations!

Loose - I was just reading about that at Zendotstudio blog. She said "excuse me officer, I'd like to file an harassment complaint against my mind" Me too!
Its a great painting Ian. I like the movement and rhythm within the structure.
I think you have balanced some looseness in the geometric shapes and balanced warm yellows in with all those various shades of gray- very nice.
wonderfully free...and a fabulously restrained pallete
really beautiful the yelow touch!
this is a new and diferent style!
Dear Ian,
Most interesting and I can see who the two artists are that have provided some influence and inspiration. I like the new direction that you are heading in.
I almost feel like it is calling out for some calligraphy.
Warmest regards,
Egmont
I struggle with this myself- especially having started a new medium (encaustic) a few months ago.
I think you've achieved a looseness in the brushstrokes, and it's effectively balanced by geometric elements.
lovely...
beautiful colors and balance...just looking at how different it is from "shattered" below in the last post.
you have so much to share!
I really like the color and the composition and I do see calligraphy in this, I like your direction.
again me, I just want to thank you for your kind comments, encouraging me a lot!
