Winter solstice

This is the first in a planned series of four depicting the seasons of the year, I hope this works out satisfactorily. I have already made a start on Spring only to paint it all out and start again, I hope for better luck this time.

i think the reworking of a piece is so very necessary to the evolution of the process ... i think we have the original idea, but in reworking the piece we usually find that we needed to go through our own inner process before we find the finished work... your winter solstice is wonderful...

Greetings Ian,

I like the idea of doing a four panel series depicting the seasons. Are you also using music to help influence your ideas like Vivaldi's Four Seasons?

The texture that is spread across the panel has a beautiful variation of sizes, I think it came out perfect. In regards to the colours, I am going to hold my opinion and see when all the panels are completed.

Warmest regards,
Egmont

Oh this new series is like fossilized essence - that sounds so clumsy for something rather tender and magical.
