Return to Minimalism

I seem to have strayed a long way from the minimalism that I am very keen on so here is a work that gets me back on the straight and narrow again.

Untitled mixed media on panel 60 x 40 cm (24" x 16")

Its always fun to "stray", and then come back...a very dynamic work!

Very beautiful 'return' Ian...as artists it's good to be on the adventure and yet know what feels like home...
your minimalist work is simply elegant and soothng.

Greetings dear Ian,

Though I have had some difficulty in the past to warm up to your very minimalism paintings, this one on the other hand has me delighted by your success. In other words, this one not only works for me, but is also a painting I love.

Warmest regards,
Egmont

What can I say... minimal was the goal and minimal has been achieved big time.. textured for interest and evocative with mystery.

I too, find this piece to be successful, and I especially love the texture and color. I don't find it minimal, perhaps it is because there is a lot going on within the texture and the paint.. like an old building telling stories...

I have just started to paint. Semi abstract acrylic works. I surf the net to see what others are doing and was amazed to see your work. I just love it. Especially these simple brownish ones. Inspires me to keep going. Thanks
