I am sorry if this one seems a little menacing, it turned out rather more that way than I had intended. I wanted to experiment with attaching some quite three dimensional objects to the image, I quite like it, I hope you do too.
I like where you are taking your art as well as the colour selection.
As for the elements you are attaching to the canvas are interesting, however I feel they do not connect with each other, especially the Roman numeral. I particularly love typography in a work of art but you need to make sure they all have a reason for being there.
Another person commented earlier that it reminds them of a shipyard and I was thinking along those lines to , due to the colours and the military style numbers, all which took me back to WWII.
Do not give up and definitely try again. Look at the elements you select the next time and see what sort of story they tell you and then convey it to us.
I found it dark and a bit suspenseful, but what is wrong with that? I think we access the deepest recess of the mind when doing abstract work... I really liked it. well done...
I find it soothing and compelling at the same time...a tension is created by the strength of the verticals...and the title is provacative luring me in...for a closer look. terrific size too.
Hello, from Chicago, Illinois. I'm lucky to have just found your blog. I love your images and your brief poignant aesthetic discussions. I'll be sharing it with others whenever the topic of wabisabi comes up. I think you've hit the nail on the head as regards TRUE wabisabi in a non-japanese context (as opposed to commercial rip-offs of Japanese culture) Keep up the wonderful work!
I am an enthusiastic photographer and aspiring artist and my favourite images can best be described as Abstract Minimalism. This does not mean that everything I post will fit this description, I intend to share any photograph or painting that appeals to me whether or not it is my own work.
Please feel free to make comments or suggestions, I will be delighted to read them all.

It looks very nice! Feels like a glimpse from the shipyard.
Not menacing at all to me. Lovely noncolours, I really like these neutrals and textures.
I love the texture that you have created and the entire composition is very nice. I loved the previous painting as well. Great work!
